Charlotte Blease PhD, is a Keane OpenNotes Scholar with a background in philosophy and interdisciplinary health research. Her work focuses on the ethics and relational benefits of note sharing, including the potential therapeutic benefits to patients. Currently, Charlotte is interested in ethical and empirical questions around sharing mental health notes, including in psychiatry and psychotherapy notes. This research builds on her extensive background in ethical issues in psychotherapy and medical care, and in placebo research. She is a founding member of the Society for Interdisciplinary Placebo Studies and was previously affiliated with Harvard’s Program in Placebo Studies. Charlotte is the author of more than 70 papers spanning philosophical and ethical aspects of healthcare and medical internet research.
