The OpenNotes Lab Artificial Intelligence Translation Learning Collaborative (AI TLC) aims to improve healthcare accessibility and fairness by using AI-powered language translation tools .
Our current mission is to:
- Understand what patients want from AI translation tools in healthcare settings
- Understand the current operational workflows of health systems implementing AI translation tools
- Understand the complex legal landscape around using AI translation tools in U.S. health systems
- Broadly disseminate our findings and best practices
- Amplify collaborative member’s individual work in this arena Our ultimate goal is to ensure that language is not a barrier to healthcare access
