Job Summary
OpenNotes is seeking a talented Multimedia Communications Specialist to join our team as a consultant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating engaging multimedia content to support our organization’s marketing and communication strategies.
Reporting to leadership, the Multimedia Communications Specialist will work closely with the communications and dissemination staff and contracted organizations to promote the marketing and branding efforts of OpenNotes. The Multimedia Communications Specialist will be a trusted contributor in helping strategize, design, and implement communication plans utilizing multiple platforms including web, print, video and social media. They are essential to managing and maintaining relationships with community partners, leveraging professional contacts, and partnering with patient advocates, to develop opportunities to spread OpenNotes to diverse health settings.

Pay: $35.00 per hour

Duties
- Develops multimedia content including videos, graphics, and animations for various platforms
- Manages and updates social media accounts to enhance brand visibility
- Proofreads and edits content to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Collaborates with internal teams to develop communications materials
- Coordinates and assists staff with their public presentations
- Creates, distributes, and/or partners on press releases
- Uses journalistic skills to write compelling stories and articles
Experience

Real world experience in healthcare or science communications

Proven experience in multimedia content creation and editing

Strong proficiency in social media management and marketing strategies

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently

A degree in Multimedia, Journalism, Communications, or related field is preferred, but not required
